TRANCE DANCE MIAMI
Mother Center
Saturday, December 8, 2007
7 pm
Freedom Rhythms is a form of Trance Dance. Imagine a mix of great music filled with world rhythms (live drumming is added to make the music that much more powerful and delicious), and the facilitator creates a safe space for you to be able to let go and dance in whichever way your soul desires. No blindfolds are used, but you are encouraged to close your eyes and enjoy yourself as if there was nobody else in the room.
There is no right or wrong way of dancing, however, there is such thing as letting go to the point where you aren't dancing, but rather, you feel being "danced". And Michael Brandwajn, who will be leading this Trance Dance, is an expert at helping you get there. Don't miss this opportunity to learn one of the most powerful ways to connect to your body and produce a state of absolute freedom, regardless of whether you think you can dance or not.
We will finish the session with some breathing and meditation exercises -your mind and body will be ripe for that blissful experience!

Tripsichore Workshop
Nirvana Spa location, 8701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL
Tripsichore Sun Salutations & Beyond
Tripsichore contends that apart from competency and mastery, creating
spectacular asanas has much to do with the energetic intention of the
practitioner. Underlying the dramatic quality of inspiring asana is the
exploration of the way energy flows through the body to create forms,
shapes, and, ultimately, meaning. In this workshop, Edward expertly guides
participants on a continued journey through innovative Sun Salutes - the
glory of Tripsichore's technique, and into the deeper energetic exploration
on the way to advanced asana practice.
Edward Clark takes students on an exploration of the dynamic potential of backbends and inversions within the framework of Tripsichore Yoga Theatre's vinyasa technique. This workshop will start with the fundamental relationships of pranayama and asana and pranayama and movement/flow. As we progress, it will focus on inversions and backbends within this framework of breath, pose, and flow. This workshop is recommended for yoga students who are comfortable in static head balancing and backbends who wish to acquire a more advanced capacity in these poses and more freedom to move within them.
Edward Clark fuses his keen artistic vision with a deep understanding of the essential pursuit of yoga practice. With one foot in dance, one foot in Ashtanga, and the other in Sivananda (for Edward this is possible) he has synthesised the use of breath, asana, choreography and philosophy. His classes are entertaining, demanding and exhilarating.
Edward Clark is the creator of Tripsichore yoga Theatre, the London based yoga group who have amazed audiences throughout Europe and North America with their sensual and lyric application of yoga to make serenely absorbing performance art. Mr. Clark began studying yoga in 1979. Noteworthy among his teachers are Narayani and Giris Rabinovitch, but he confesses huge admiration for the Ashtanga Vinyasa, Sivananda, Iyengar and Viniyoga practices. The technique Tripsichore uses is a synthesis of many aspects of yoga. Mr. Clark say, "We are quick to disclaim that what we do is dance. While there are dancers in the company, there are others who have never been in a dance studio. They meet on a common ground of pure yoga." Mr. Clark is also Head Of Movement And Dance at the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy of dramatic Art in London. "The incorporation of yoga in the training of actors was an outrageous idea 10 years ago and is now
being copied throughout training institutions in the UK," says Mr. Clark.
